Open your heart

The whole world is still and silent, The birds have gone to sleep; the clouds have submitted to the stars. And yet, I lay awake. Because I know, we can only choose our dreams if we do not sleep. I close my eyes and dream; I choose to dream of only you. Now, I ask that you join me as we create this beautiful dream. Do not sleep my love or you might be taken up by the past. Hold my hand and don’t look back. Let us share this perfect world, owned by the two us. Listen, to the silent night my love. You will hear the rhythm of my heart beat. My heart is calling out to you, dancing to the tune of your name. Do not fall asleep, open your heart and let me in. Let our hearts dance in the dark, let our souls hug the stars. You’re far and yet so near only if you let me in. Open your heart and maybe at last I can fall asleep.

Bleeding soul...........

When I utter your name, I can savor the venom.
The echo of your voice makes murder a sugary sensation.
A dagger in your heart I envision as I glance at you.

Ugly Imp dressed in white, I can see your claws.
A bed bug wearing lipstick, my heart goes out to your sufferers.
The gods toss and turn in their siesta, it was a crime to craft you.

You make hell a reality, well hell deserves better,
My soul bleeds with hatred, it cries with shame for sharing with the mischievous spirit.
Your origin date was the end of the beginning.

Hold your treacherous tears; don’t let them infect the soil.
Gulp down your tears, they may stir the ancestors.
Taste the animosity of your sin, blistering as magma, your tears must be.
Child of a serpent, daughter of a plump flea.
My soul bleeds with wrath; it lies awake in my slumber.

The Man with the Opener

You sat on the chair with a beam on your face.
Like a child offering candy to a stranger, you gave me your opener.
It was not once but twice.

I smiled to say thank you but your thoughts were far away.
I wish I had asked for your card, and then I would know your first name.
I have gazed at the pictures of the bloody bodies, eager to dentify the cherry shirt.
How will ever know?
Do I really need to know?

Maybe I should have persuaded you to follow my path,
But how could I have known?
I just followed the rhythm of the wind.

May be the angel of death passed you by,
Perhaps it was not yet your time.
I guess, I will never know.

From your number one fan.

It’s been a year since the almighty relieved you of the useless pain,
Incase you are wondering, Thriller is still the best selling album.
Guess what! The world cup actually came to Africa.
You should have seen the look in Madibas eyes,
I imagine, you would have been there,
May be you could have sung a song,
Oh ya, you Americans don’t like soccer.

Things have not changed so much...
The world isn’t a better place.
Little children still die of hunger,
Others are defiled before they can speak.

Instead of healing, the world is getting sicker.
Troops are moving faster to fight endless wars,
Money is the god that governs the world,
You won’t believe it, where I come from,
Children are sacrificed to get riches.

You must be in a better place.
How does it feel to walk freely without cameras?
Are you in the choir?
It must be amazing to see little children play without fear of getting harmed.
Well, your name still lives on.
A billion years may never wipe it away,
Till we meet ..
Your number 1 fan.

The dream.

I had a dream,
With tears in my eyes I walked a thousand miles,
A ray of light came my way,
A blurred image of my Daddy,I could see.
Quickly I ran to him, my arms open wide.
Slowly by slowly he began to vanish.

There I was, all alone,
Where could my Daddy be? I wondered.
I searched and searched,
Atlast I saw his image, waving goodbye

Daddy, dont leave
Well, he was gone.
Even in my dreams,he was gone.

Dear Santa........Help

Dear Santa,
It’s been awhile,
This may take a mile,
Christmas is soon; hope you read this before noon.

Times have changed,
Toys I longer seek,
Barbie dolls I longer desire.
MJ’s concert is not on my list.
Material things...I shall not ask

I seek for happiness beyond my reach.
I ask to find out the unknown that torment my nights.
Help me understand the dreams that can not let me be.
I need answers to questions that have forever gone un answered.

Dear Santa
Allot has happened, since my last letter,
A broken heart, I have natured,
Take away this emptiness I feel,
Let my heart jump at the sound of Christmas carols,
Let them bring laughter instead of tears.

Dear Santa
Mama’s eyes are different; they’ve lost the glow I used to tell about.
Brighten them this Christmas,
I know we all won’t be together,
Kindly let our souls connect as one,
Heal uncle keisy for he’s the pillar that holds it all.

Dear Santa,
Teach me;
How to trust with out doubt,
Endure without anger,
Love without fear,
Smile with my heart and not my teeth,
To accept things I cannot change.

Dear Santa,
Christmas is near,
I’m afraid it might find me sad,
It’s sadness I cannot help,
Heal my wounds,
Take away my guilt.

Dear Santa,
I yearn for the past,
I distaste the present,
I dread the future, share a glimpse of what it may be.

Dear Santa,
Please don’t ask me whether I’ve been good
That’s a question I’m afraid to answer.
